Bag it & Bin It!!
A number of residents have reported what appears to be an increase in the number of dog
"jobbies" on the footpaths, verges and parks around Iluka.
Whilst we appreciate that most dog owners are responsible and do the right thing, it's probably a
good time to remind the others that the public open spaces around Iluka are for the enjoyment of
everyone, nothing is worse that coming across a "deposit" during a quiet stroll in the park.
Quite apart from the unplesant experience of coming across dog droppings, there are also some
serious health concerns as droppings may be infested with parasites, young children are especially at risk here.
Pets do have a part to play in the lifestayle that we all enjoy, but this means doing the right
thing, keeping dogs an a leash, but more importantly picking up and properly disposing of
any deposits.
Please use the bags provided by council or take your own with you when walking your dog.
Remember, not picking up your dogs droppings is an offence, which may result in a fine!
