October 2004 is Community Safety Month

October 2004 has been designated Western Australias first ever Community Safety Month.

The month aims to raise community awareness of safety and the prevention of injuries, violence and crime through the showcasing of Government and community safety programs, events and activities. It is coordinated by the Office of Crime Prevention in partnership with the WA Police Service, Fire and Emergency Services, Office of Road Safety, the Injury Control Council of Western Australia and the departments of Community Development, Consumer and Employment Protection, Education and Training, Justice and Health.
